"It is not just a matter of winning or losing,
it it HOW you won it,
and HOW you lost it." - Mr Gerard Danker
Every game is a lesson, there is always a learning point.
With more games, you get to know yourself better, you get to know your team better.
You become a more experienced and seasoned player, you become better at performing and giving your best as a team.
Yuhua Sec game- we learned that we need to keep calm under pressure
- the pressure was mainly self-imposed, unforced mistakes were made
- there was no communication among the players while under pressure
- we were our greatest enemy
Jurongville Sec game- we must not allow our standards to slack according to our opponents' level
- we must not underestimate our opponents
- we were too complacent, there was little game satisfaction although we won
- there must be consistency in our performance
Punggol Sec game
- we must be quicker, sharper and 'more hungry' at rebounds
- don't stand and admire, BE THERE!
- our shots/sweeps/pushes must be harder and deadlier in the D
- we must make every chances at goal COUNT!
- every game should be 100% , regardless of our opponents
These are the above lessons i have learned from every game.
I hope you are a better student than me :)
Please remember the learning points, reflect upon them.
4 more games to go.
May you be the best that you can be.
ps. It's good to see you smiling again Carolyn :)

How you respond to the challenge and pressure in the game will determine whether you are a winner or a loser.
'If we hold on together' taken from the cartoon
'Land before Time'.
Don't lose your way
With each passing day
You've come so far
Don't throw it away
Live believing
Dreams are for weaving
Wonders are waiting to start
Live your story
Faith, hope & glory
Hold to the truth in your heart
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I

i just witnessed...
the highlight of the under 21 tournament;
a group of ladies giving the best of themselves to the game -
a sign of quality;
individuals fighting on, till the very last minute, no matter how red their faces were -
a sign of discipline and courage;
players keeping their calm, covering each other, holding the fort, stopping every ball, doing their basics right -
a sign of commitment;
a team at work, each player focussing and concentrating on her part, contributing to the overall outcome of the game -
a sign of team spirit;
players supporting each other with determination, not allowing themselves to be distracted by the poor judgement of the umpires, the barking dogs or tiredness -
a sign of mental strength.
I saw the
Theresian players at work - a high quality team that embodies discipline, courage, commitment, team spirit and mental strength.
Everyone of you is a winner, no matter the outcome.
You have come a long way as a team, as a Theresian hockey player.
You have made us proud.
Congratulations.
Keep it going.
We are with you all the way.
Finals is this Sat 11th Feb 1900 (7pm) Delta Sports Complex vs Crescent B.

Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger.
If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.
We are not asking for Miracles,
we are asking you do to the basics right.
Be the best that you can be.
